To join Junior Auxiliary, you must be nominated by a current or past member. JA Provisional members must serve a term of 6 months and complete the provisional training course, earning 24 hours during the provisional period by attending provisional meetings, regular chapter meetings, and working on JA projects. After 6 months of training, the provisional class is voted into active membership. As an active member, you will earn at least 38 hours a year: 24 service, 12 education, and 2 fundraising. Active members serve 5 years, and after 5 active years eligible members can become an Associate Member and eventually

a Life Member.
