PAST/CURRENT PROJECTS

Clark County Angel Tree

Christmas presents are provided for over 500 children in Clark County every year. Parents/guardians apply for the program through the Department of Human Services and school counselors. Once approved, Angel Tree tags are made for the children listing their sizes and preferences then these tags are hung on Christmas trees in local stores. Some children receive presents from individuals who shop for the Angels and the others receive presents that the Junior Auxiliary members purchase using funds we have raised. Every Angel who gets approved receives presents through this program.

Camp Kaleidoscope

Camp Kaleidoscope is our annual summer camp that invites Clark County children to enjoy a free 4-day summer camp for any child who is pre-k through Middle School-age.  In past years, campers made crafts, played games, swam, took boat rides, and fished while enjoying the beautiful scenery on Lake Degray.

Duck Derby Festival

Each year, JAoA joins the charge to quack out child abuse by volunteering at the annual Duck Derby Festival.  All proceeds benefit the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center in Clark County.

Tables For Tips

Our annual event where our members wait tables for an evening at Slim & Shorty's. All tips from that night go directly to our Angel Tree program.

Breakfast with Santa

Kids and their families are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast, arts and crafts, and most importantly, a chance to have a picture with Saint Nick and tell him what you wish for Christmas! We invite our guests to give a canned good as their admission to be donated to a local non-profit business.

Crown Family

We privately assist a family in the community with basic needs. We assist with gifts at Christmas and something special for birthdays. We work to help break the cycle of poverty by assisting the children with school, getting the children into college, and assisting the parent(s) with necessities.

Backpacks for Kids

Every August, JAoA is one of the many groups who volunteer at this exciting Back to School event. The members of Men United invite families and volunteers to the Clark County Adult Center for dinner, door prizes, and back-to-school supplies for all school age children.

Fall Day

Spring Day provides the children of Clark County the opportunity to enjoy certain aspects of the Fall season. Hay rides, pumpkin painting, team games, cookie decorating, s'mores making and hot dog roasting are just a few features we've done in the past.

Bunko Night

Bunko Night is a fundraiser held to raise money for Angel Tree. Every year there is a different theme. Paid admission includes appetizers and entry into the game. Participants win prizes for various accomplishments in the game. All proceeds go directly to the Angel Tree Fund.
